Molasses is made from Sugar Cane by boiling the sugar cane sugar syrup, resulting in a highly concentrated and natural syrup. The roots of the sugar cane are deep and receive a broad spectrum of minerals and trace elements.
* The residue left after the third and final boiling of sugar syrup to extract crystal sugars at the sugar refinery. This is what goes into essentially any product labelled as blackstrap in NZ that is for human consumption. It also contains significant amounts of minerals and nutrients, but without the salty bitterness.
